Perfect Union is where to donate food and toys for the holidays

Green Wednesday is one of the largest cannabis shopping days–in dollars, transactions and store visits–of the year. “Green Wednesday was the second highest day of sales and Black Friday was the third, making Thanksgiving a critical holiday for cannabis retailers in the US. Looking at Thanksgiving week in more detail, we find that hourly transactions increased by nearly 50% on Green Wednesday and 13% on Black Friday. When we explore category growth on Green Wednesday, we see that Beverages (+111%) and Edibles (+87%) had the largest relative growth in sales compared to the previous four Wednesdays.” [Headset, Executive Report, “Analyzing US cannabis sales trends to understand holiday demand,” October 24, 2022].

Perfect Union Kicks Good Will into HIGH Gear for Green Wednesday

The day before Thanksgiving, now dubbed “Green Wednesday,” is one of the biggest cannabis sale days of the year. To celebrate, Perfect Union is offering deep discounts, as low as 50% off, to over 21+ guests that day. In exchange, the dispensary chain is asking shoppers to bring non-perishable food, new coats, and toys to drop off at their local Perfect Union location. Neighbors can also enjoy free food from local vendor food trucks at select locations that day.

Perfect Union is a community focussed dispensary that is rooted in giving back. “The holidays present challenging times for our neighbors and the Perfect Union budtenders are geared up to give back,” stated Nicole Hanratty, VP of Marketing at Perfect Union. “We couldn’t be more proud to partner with our retail brands and local charities to raise awareness and fill wishes this season.”

Perfect Union is one of the largest wholly-owned cannabis retail chains in Northern California. Through the end of the year, it is increasing charitable outreach and setting a goal to feed 500 families and donate 1,000 coats, toys and essential items.

Already this month, Perfect Union with C.A.D. donated $1,500 to Sacramento’s Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation. Collection areas in store lobbies are ready to receive donations making it easy and quick to give back while shopping on Green Wednesday.

“What I love most about working here is that giving back is embedded in the culture,” shared Hanratty. “From dropping off turkeys at the Marysville police department, to coordinating donations for people experiencing homelessness in Sacramento, the next six weeks we get to kick our goodwill into high gear. Please consider joining us and dropping food, toys or coats to a Perfect Union near you. Anything helps.”

On Green Wednesday, November 23rd, all Perfect Union stores will serve as a drop off location for toys, coats and food. The Sacramento stores welcome guests to enjoy a free meal from delicious food trucks at select locations and shop deep discounts that range from 20 to 50 percent off.
